Established Role
A male Weedy Sea Dragon, brooding a clutch of fertilised eggs on the underside of his tail.
Weedy Sea Dragons are an example of male brooders, where the female will lay over 100 eggs onto the underside of the male’s tail, and he will then fertilise and carry the eggs for around one month until the hatchlings emerge.
If you happen to encounter one in the water, I highly recommend taking the time to observe the individual from a distance, and they will likely choose to ignore you and resume hunting.
