A Gloomy Octopus jetting from one pillar to another, moving through the darkness below a harbour pier. During the day, I often find this species sitting at the entrance of their den with what I would describe as ‘clenched fists’, usually holding some shells or rocks for camouflage and protection. At night however, they seem to be a lot more active and more likely to be found hunting out and about in the open.
