A beautiful Reef Manta Ray cruising through the blue. I love swimming with Manta Rays more than I care to describe, but watching them swim with their mouths wide-open to feed, will always remind me of their vulnerability to un-natural threats.

Manta Rays have very few natural predators due to their great size and power, but sadly they are under an ever-increasing threat from human practices. Global overfishing, a lack of protected habitats, and the mountains of plastic waste entering the Ocean each year, all contribute towards the Manta Ray’s damning IUCN status of “Threatened”. Manta Ray numbers continue to decrease each year.
